Kirstie Dedman
Kirstie is an artist who primarily works in the medium of reduction Linocut’s. A technique which incorporates vibrant mark making and bold shapes creating modern images with traditional wood working methods.
Inspired by an unexpected display of Warhol in her provincial town as a teenager, Kirstie was always inspired by pop art and the mix of popular culture and high art. Once she attended art school and was able to learn the techniques often used by those first inspirations she felt she had found her niche.
Kirstie has drawn inspiration from her travels, architecture and looks to remind people of those peaceful relaxed moments. Whether enjoying a view or lying around a pool.
Linocut prints are often limited to just a few layers of bold colour. Kirstie often tries to push this further. Enjoying playing with colour and light and shade.
