Julia Ismambetova

I am a professional visual artist, originally from Kazakhstan and have been living in Canada permanently since 2016. Most of my artworks are original paintings on silk, I use acrylic based paints that are rated archival quality from Germany and France, and the highest quality silk that has been sourced from Uzbekistan. It has taken me a lifetime of testing, experimenting and creating to finally find the perfect combination of materials – the most exacting quality of silk and only certain brands of paints – that would be ideal, both for my creative self-expression and for the practical use of the finished artwork. I like to call my original technique “graphics on silk”.
